You know when you’re drowning, you don’t actually inhale ‘till right before you black out? It’s called voluntary apnea. It’s like no matter how much you’re freaking out, the instinct to not let any water in is so strong, that you won’t open your mouth until you feel like your head is exploding. Then when you finally do let it in, that’s when it stops hurting. It’s not scary anymore, its actually kind of peaceful.

#scott and water/suffocation are two huge recurring themes with him #since the pilot there have been heaps and heaps of little things that revolve around the sensation of drowning #scott having asthma; scott’s first transformation in the bath; scott meeting allison in the rain #i could seriously go on for ages #so now it seems like he’s being overwhelmed by it #he is never willingly walking into the water #in the opening he is being shoved into it by jackson and in the promo he is being drowned in it #but the difference now is in the promo he is the one killing himself in the waters #he is willingly letting himself go (in all sense) #he is not becoming evil #e is letting go of the past to become (i hope) a leader that has learnt to control the water #oop i accidentally did the thing
